Norman Fosters dreams
The film captures the origins of the architect and how his dreams and influences inspired the creation of buildings such as the Beijing airport (the largest in the world), the Reichstag, the Hearst Tower in New York and works as the highest bridge in the world, Millau Viaduct in France, among others.
Special 3 discs edition
Filmed in over ten countries during two and a half years, this edition contains, besides the movie, a book of drawings by Norman Foster, an extra disc with more than 100 minutes of unreleased bonus material, the full interviews with Norman Foster, artists Richard Serra, Cai Guo-Qiang and Ai Weiwei and further projects of Foster such as schools in Sierra Leone, Expo Station and the Elephant House, which do not appear in the film. A limited edition complete the vision that the film offers on Norman Foster and his unwavering passion for improving life quality through design. This edition also includes a CD with the soundtrack of the film, composed by Joan Valent.
Produced by Art Commissioners / Ivorypress, the film premiered to great acclaim at the Berlin Film Festival at the Berlinale Special in 2010. It won the TCM Audience Award for Best Documentary at the European Film Festival in San Sebastian, 2010, and the First Prize of the Jury of Docville International Documentary Festival 2010, Leuven, Belgium. It was also selected for the 2011 Goya Awards in the category of Best Documentary and won the Best Cinematography Award at the International Documentary section of the Sichuan TV Festival Chinese festival (SCTVF).
