Lia Sáile (Essen-Werden, Germany, 1985) Visual and performing arts, including painting, acting, playing the violin and singing, have shaped Lia Sáile’s life since childhood. After graduating from the art-specialised Gymnasium Essen-Werden in 2004, she left Germany and commenced theatre, film and media studies in Vienna. There she also began intensively to explore photography and attend classes at the Academy of Fine Arts. In the winter of 2005, Sáile started working with Polaroid, which is now the foundation of her visual work. She has exhibited her work at institutions such as the POLANOIR Gallery and the National Museum of Fine Arts Malta. In 2009 she graduated in Theatre, Film and Media Studies from The University of Vienna, Austria, in 2009.
