Jana Boulus studied Fine Art and English Literature in Haifa University, Israel. She is a Palestinian with an Israeli passport. She lived between a checkpoint and the wall and went to an American school on the Israeli-controlled side. Being born in a place where politics is not an option but an obligation, she decided to start using her photography to clarify her thoughts and opinions. She learned to do this through experience, discovering that art can be thought-provoking and stimulating. Consequently she has been focusing on improving her philosophy and skills. Being influenced by the media’s inability to capture the truth, she has turned what was once a hobby into a professional goal.
