Boris Mikhailov

Mikhailov's work was discovered in the West in the 1990s. Despite having only exhibited in small private viewings in the USSR, he gained international recognition with the series Am Boden (1991), Dämmerung (1993) and Case History (1999). With a vision that is both poetic and painfully incisive, he exposes the wounds of post-communist trauma.
