Apóstol studied Fine Arts at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. His work stresses the nature and politics of Latin American modernity. He has held exhibitions in important galleries worldwide and participated in the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011 and the II Polygraphic Triennial of San Juan in 2009. His work is included in many of collections including Tate Modern, UK, Daros-Latinamerica, Switzerland, and the Getty Research Institute, USA. He has published Modernidad tropical and La salvaje revolucionaria en horario estelar.
