How much does your building weigh Mr. Foster?

The film traces the rise of one of the world’s premier architects, Norman Foster and his unending  quest to improve the quality of life through design. Extensive bonus material enriches the haulistic vision that the film offers of the career of Norman Foster.

Portrayed are emblematic projects such as the largest building in the world, Beijing Airport, the Reichstag in Berlin, the Hearst Building in New York and works such as the tallest bridge ever constructed in Millau, France. In the very near future, the majority of mankind will abandon the countryside and live entirely in cities. Foster offers some striking solutions to the problems that this historic event will create. Architecture comes alive. Foster’s projects are photographed in a cinematic style that seeks to bring the spectacular nature of their size and scale to the big screen.

Filmed in over ten countries during two and a half years, this edition contains, besides the movie, a book of drawings by Norman Foster, an extra disc with more than 100 minutes of unreleased bonus material, the full interviews with Norman Foster, artists Richard Serra, Cai Guo-Qiang and Ai Weiwei and further projects of Foster such as schools in Sierra Leone, Expo Station and the Elephant House, which do not appear in the film. A limited edition complete the vision that the film offers on Norman Foster and his unwavering passion for improving life quality through design.
